As I was getting dressed this morning, I was craving softness, coziness, and a sense of being cradled by my clothes. So I grabbed my comfiest jeans and a soft sweater.
But the look was falling flat. Yes, comfort was priority, but I still wanted to feel a little special too.
The moment I slipped this grey coat on top, everything came together. It’s amazing how a tone-on-tone moment will do that to an outfit! Next time your look isn’t quite working, double up on a color you’re already wearing. The results might surprise you!
Aaand it never hurts to throw on a colorful sneaker too. 🙂
My coat is old from Madewell, but I found a similar coat from J.Crew — umm hello, it’s 100% wool and under $130! ONE HUNDRED PERCENT WOOL! Whaaat! I’m sorry, I haven’t even seen a coat made of 100% wool in a long time, much less an affordable one. I’d jump if you need a good coat. (Everlane and Quince have similar options, but neither is 100% wool like the J.Crew one.)
