The actor, who celebrated her 21st birthday on February 19, attended the 2025 SAG Awards in a custom salmon satin Louis Vuitton dress with a cowl neck, open back, and a flowing train. The following day she attended the premiere of her new film The Electric State wearing a metallic lace corset dress from Annie’s Ibiza, outfitted with defined hips, a mermaid train, and a matching bolero. While doing press for her latest project, Brown has leaned into the naughties look, opting for archival Hervé Léger and skintight LBDs.
The blonde hair and frosted makeup look have earned her comparisons to Pamela Anderson, Jessica Simpson, and Britney Spears. Many have joked that she’s auditioning for a Spears biopic, which she commented on during The Electric State red carpet. “I mean, she is an absolute icon,” Brown told Access Hollywood. “I would love nothing more than to be a part of her story. But that’s her story, and I am in full support of her bringing her story to life how she wants to.”
But it’s far likelier that Brown’s new look isn’t an audition, but rather, an indication of her new chapter. With her recent looks, Brown demarcates the precocious child actor from the adult woman. In December, she wrapped the final season of Stranger Things, which she has been filming since she was 11-years-old. Beyond ending the show that launched her into global fame, she also celebrated her wedding to Jake Bongiovi. (On the Electric State red carpet she gently reminded photographers that Bongiovi isn’t just her boyfriend, but her husband.)
Brown has lived a lot of life in her 21 years, and it makes sense that she wants a grown-up look to match. Having spent her formative years in the public eye, it’s not a surprise that she’s inclined to mark the end of her time as Eleven by reminding the world who Millie Bobby Brown is.
