Watch Sonam Kapoor Get Ready For the Dior Couture Show

Paris Couture Week has been filled with A-listers, and the Dior spring 2025 show was particularly star-studded. In attendance were Jenna Ortega and Anya Taylor-Joy, as well as Sonam Kapoor, who allowed Vogue to document her getting-ready process in a new video. “Today’s show is very special to me,” the actor said as she began the glam process. “The artwork, which serves as the backdrop to the show, was done by Rithika Merchant; I was so inspired by her that I commissioned a special artwork when my son was born.”

Kapoor and Dior share a long history. As a muse to the house for years, Kapoor remembers the first day she began working with the French house. “Dior and I have had an associations since I was 22 years old, for my film Aisha,” says Kapoor. “Dior lent me all these amazing looks and the Lady Dior bag.” It was only natural, then, that Kapoor turn out for the label’s latest couture presentation. Besides, she can’t get enough of the City of Light either. “I love Paris, it’s such a nice place to be if you’re an artist,” she says. “I love to go to the museums. My favorite is the d’Orsay. I always get inspired, and every time I go there, I feel different.”

After finishing hair and makeup, and taking a quick break to order room service—French fries, naturally!—Kapoor was ready to slip into her showtime look. The Indian star is styled by her sister, Rhea Kapoor, and together, they landed on a classic look including a netted black dress and faux fur coat.  “It’s draped really wonderfully,” Kapoor said of the dress. “It reminds me of an Indian outfit, but it’s not. It’s sexy, and very sporty and cool at the same time.”  The Kapoor sisters punctuated the look with traditional Indian accessories, such as Sahara earrings and black gajra hair flowers.

When it comes to finding those perfect red carpet looks, both Rhea and Sonam agree: Their mother, a former model and fashion designer, serves as their forever style inspiration. “Sonam’s personal style has always been exuberant and joyful,” says Rhea. “She really has an appreciation for everything that goes into making a moment; I think that came from my mom.”
