Two deal breakers when it comes to pants

Oh, look! It’s the “coffee shop” outfit from Friday’s post! In case you missed it, I shared how I spend less energy on my wardrobe by repeatedly riffing off of 6 outfit formulas I plan out ahead of time. It’s such a fun post with some great outfit ideas — check it out!

I work from a coffee shop most days, and my number one priority is comfortable pants that I can sit in for a long time. A few years ago, I had to get really honest with myself about what “comfortable pants” means to me. Because there are all kinds of recs out there for comfy pants — but what one person finds comfy doesn’t always work for another person. We all have different bodies, different preferences, and different definitions of what’s comfortable.

For me, “comfortable pants” means two things:

  1. NO pinching at my waist/stomach (so likely a mid to low rise)
  2. NO fabric bunching up in my hoo-ha (THE WORST)

These slouchy, soft Ref jeans are my faaaavorite. But! It’s taken me a little while to figure out how to style them in a way that makes me feel good, especially for winter.

I’ve learned that I feel good when I wear them with a *slightly* cropped sweater and a *slightly* cropped jacket. So when I recently found this beautiful faux fur cropped jacket at a vintage shop, and I was elated! Perfect jacket to go with my favorite jeans.

What about you? What does comfort mean to you when it comes to pants? I’d love to hear in the comments!
