This time last year, I wore basically this exact same outfit. I love it when that happens — when an outfit is so good, it makes an appearance time after time.
This year, the look is a little different. The jeans are different—wider leg, lower rise, better fit. The bag is different, too — a structured shoulder bag instead of a canvas tote.
These are small switches, but they shift the tone of the outfit a bit.
I think there’s something really cool about orbiting the same outfit year after year — keeping the core idea, but evolving the details a little as you evolve. Swapping one or two things out. Embracing what’s working and releasing what’s no longer aligned. These subtle changes are a way of saying, “I’m still me, but I’m becoming more of me.”
I’m starting to think that’s what personal style is — often not an entire reinvention, but rather, a gentle orbit. A spiral inward, understanding yourself and honoring your needs more and more with each year that passes.
