The Best Vintage Stores in Palm Springs

Located a bit of a drive outside of Palm Springs (technically in the city of Palm Desert), this vintage store is worth the drive. The wares feel like shopping in the closet of a well-heeled socialite. There’s designer clothing from each and every era, as well as a large collection of modern pleated muumuus of every color and a small-but-mighty men’s section.

Founded by former record label owner James Morelos, this 40,000 square foot flea market-style shop has more than a dozen vendors selling mid-century modern furniture, art, and both contemporary and vintage clothing. Stop by during an event, and the bar located in the middle of the shop will be slinging Tiki cocktails and snacks from the cool food shop that’s one of the vendors inside. The Frippery, which has women’s clothing and accessories, is especially good.

This open-air market takes place on the first Sunday of the month during the spring, fall, and winter seasons. Meant to have an accessible garage sale feel, the more than 100 booths cover everything from vintage glassware to clothing, furniture, jewelry, records, and plants.

Owner Cat Slater is doing her part to fight the size disparities in the vintage world—the shop focuses on stocking a wide range of sizes (including plus-size). The racks are organized by era, with an emphasis on the bright colors and fun prints that Palm Springs is known for.
