The NBA is back! Last night the 2024–2025 season kicked off with two equally exciting games: the New York Knicks vs. the returning champions the Boston Celtics and the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. the Los Angeles Lakers. The latter game saw LeBron James and Bronny James make history as the first father and son to play together in an NBA game. Off the court, the fashion proved to be equally thrilling.
The NBA tunnel—the pathway connecting arena entrances to locker rooms to the arena entrances—is considered the league’s version of a runway or a Hollywood red carpet. In recent seasons, NBA fans and and fashion enthusiasts alike have relished in seeing their favorite players arrive to games in brands like Thom Browne, Marni, Rick Owens, Prada, and Bottega Veneta, as well as emerging labels such as Who Decides War and Russell Westbrook’s brand Honor the Gift. The NBA tunnel has undoubtedly made the league the gold standard for blending fashion with sports. Last night, we saw both LeBron James and Karl-Anthony Towns wearing Louis Vuitton, while 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown wore a custom bomber jacket inspired by the Boston Celtics’s 18 championships wins—the most recorded wins of NBA franchise.
