I’m not trying to boast, but I get a lot of compliments on the way I smell. From strangers on the train to my fellow Who What Wear UK editors, someone is always asking me what perfume I’m wearing. And they’re surprised to hear that on most days I’m not wearing a perfume, but in fact, a luxury body spray.
As someone who works in beauty, I have to admit I own a lot of perfumes. From heavier ouds to lighter floral perfumes and sweet gourmand scents, I’ve invested in many luxury fragrances over the years. And although I do love them all, I definitely don’t love the dent they’ve left on my bank account. Luckily for me, a wide number of luxury perfume houses are now offering some of their most popular scents in the form of (much more affordable) body sprays.

While eau de parfums and eau de toilettes will always have a place on my dressing table, with their lasting power being unrivalled, as I start thinking about my line up of spring perfumes, lighter body mists have an undeniable edge. Their lightweight nature is better suited to warmer weather, they are more affordable, easy to layer and convenient to take on the go.
So, whether you’re looking to get your hands on a cult scent for less, prefer a more delicate perfume experience or desire a lighter scent that won’t be too overpowering as the weather warms up, I’ve rounded up the best luxury body sprays on the market right now—trust me, I’m an expert in this.

Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle perfume has solidified itself as a cult favourite, so it’s no surprise that the body spray is just as popular. With notes of orange, bergamot and musk, this expensive-smelling fragrance is sure to earn you loads of compliments.

Known for its dewy blushes and flawless skin products, Rare Beauty has fast become a cult brand amongst beauty experts. One of the products that has definitely been overlooked, in my opinion, is the Find Comfort Body & Hair Fragrance Mist. A blend of citrus fruits, fresh florals and tonka, it makes the perfect everyday fragrance.

Kayali’s Lovefest Burning Cherry 48 mixes classic fruity notes with smokier Palo Santo and Peru balsam for a sexier nighttime scent.
5. Fenty Fragrance Parfum Hair + Body Mist
Fenty
Fragrance Parfum Hair + Body Mist
Best Intense Luxury Body Spray
Key notes: Blueberry, tangerine, Bulgarian rose, geranium, magnolia, patchouli, musk
Fenty Beauty’s Hair and Body Mist is a lighter version of the iconic fragrance for everyday use. The heavier notes of patchouli, Bulgarian rose and musk have been toned down into a more subtle mist that still maintains its staying power. The spicy-floral base of the fragrance also makes it the ultimate balance between masculine and feminine.
6. Phlur Vanilla Skin Body Mist
Phlur
Vanilla Skin Body Mist
Best Sweet Luxury Body Spray
Key notes: Sugar, pink pepper, apple, cashmere wood, jasmine, lily, vanilla, sandalwood, benzoin, agarwood
Since its launch in 2015, Phlur has been known among the fragrance-obsessed for its pared-back approach to creating perfumes. After releasing a number of skin-scent perfumes, the brand then delved into body sprays at a significantly lower price point. I went into my local SpaceNK when they first launched and immediately fell in love with Vanilla Skin. A much more mature version of the classic vanilla body sprays we all loved as children, Vanilla Skin has a creamy yet woody palette that’s suitable for any occasion.
7. Dior Miss Dior Silky Body Mist
Dior
Miss Dior Silky Body Mist
Best Floral Luxury Body Spray
Key notes: Mandarin orange, rose, jasmine, musk, patchouli
Arguably one of the most popular scents of all time, Dior’s Miss Dior has branched out from its original Eau de Parfum into body washes, creams and even solid, jelly formulations for on-the-go. Although the body spray is much more affordable than the EDP, I would say that it smells no different and lasts just as long as the original. So, if you’re looking to get your hands on this iconic fragrance for less, I’d recommend giving this a try.
8. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Satin Mood Scented Body Oil Spray
Maison Francis Kurkdjian
Oud Satin Mood Scented Body Oil Spray
Best Skincare-Infused Luxury Body Spray
Key notes: Bulgarian rose, violet, strawberry, Turkish rose, oud, vanilla, amber, benzoin, cedar, caramel
Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Oud Satin Mood body oil is priced slightly higher than other luxury body sprays on the market, but trust me when I say it’s well worth the splurge. Although technically a body oil, it comes in a spray bottle, allowing you to spritz it onto the skin as you please for a sweet-woody scent that lasts all day long. I got this as a gift in Christmas 2023, I use it every day and it’s still going strong. My only warning with the formulation is that it can stain certain clothes, so be aware of that.
9. Diptyque Do Son Body Mist
Diptyque
Do Son Body Mist
Best Tuberose Luxury Body Spray
Key notes: African orange flower, iris, rose, tuberose, pink pepper, musk, benzoin
Adored by the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss, as well as almost every beauty editor I’ve spoken to, Diptyque’s Do Son perfume is a favourite for good reason. The heavier notes of tuberose, along with African orange flower and musk, give it a creamy yet fresh scent that’s perfect for the warmer months.

Best Tropical Luxury Body Spray
Key notes: Pitahaya, orange oil, tuberose, orange blossom, Moroccan jasmine, amber, musk, sea notes
Ouai is mainly known for its amazing hair products (we’re big fans of the Ouai hair oil), but it also has a great fragrance range that minimalists will love. The St Barts hair and body mist is a blend of orange oil, Moroccan jasmine and sea notes. There’s just something so fun about this fragrance, but it also doesn’t feel too out there. If you’re someone who usually shies away from overpowering scents, don’t let the sweet scent palette intimidate you—it’s gorgeous.

Best Under-the-Radar Luxury Body Mist

Enter Ellis Brooklyn’s Sand body mist which is described as a “personal fragrance” that features notes of ginger, benzoin, Sicilian bergamot and coconut milk.
What Is a Body Spray?
The main difference between Eau de Parfum (EDP), Eau de Toilette (EDT) and body sprays lies in their fragrance oil concentration, which affects their intensity and longevity. EDPs have the highest perfume oil concentration of the three (usually between 15-20%) which makes them richer and perfect for all-day-wear with a staying power of 6-8 hours and sometimes even longer. EDTs are slightly lighter, usually lasting anywhere between 3-6 hours. This is due to the fact that they have a lower concentration of 5-15%. Body sprays have the lowest longevity (around 1-3 hours), as their oil concentration does not typically rise above 5%. This, however, makes them easier to layer, more adjustable to the hot weather and a great choice for those looking for a more subtle and understated signature scent.
What Are the Benefits of a Body Spray
When it comes to choosing a fragrance, body sprays are often overlooked. However, there are many benefits to choosing a body spray over your regular perfume. With most luxury scents priced from £100 up, a body spray is a great way to enjoy a high-end fragrance experience without having to splash out loads.
Even if you still decide to invest in the EDP or EDT, a body spray iteration of the same scent in a much more economical way to take on the go and boost the perfume throughout the day. The lighter nature of a body spray also makes it more well-suited for those who prefer a more minimal scent for everyday use.
Finally, as we head into the warmer months, heat can cause the molecules in your fragrance to break down more quickly, which can alter the scent profile and lead to a distorted smell. The lower perfume oil concentration in a body spray will therefore adjust better to your natural body warmth than a heavier scent and leave you smelling fresher for a lot longer.
