The other day I was going out to dinner with a friend, but then we were going to go walking right afterwards. I wanted to feel both cute for dinner and comfortable for a sweaty walk.
I can come up with a cute dinner look or a functional active look, no problem. But to combine the two into one outfit that meets both needs? That requires a little bit of strategy.
My solution? Pull out the 2×2 outfit formula! The concept? Create a killer outfit by combining 2 dressy pieces and 2 casual pieces into one look.
For my purposes, I modified it a scooch, and paired 2 active pieces (my favorite supportive running shoes and tennis skort) with 2 fashion pieces (jewelry and socks).
And yes, the socks could be sorted into the active category. But given that fact that a good tube sock is trending right now when it comes to street style, we’re going to consider them fashion today. A tube sock can make an outfit. Especially if it has stripes, like this one.
Anyway, the outfit was exactly what I needed!
