As soon as the temperature cracks 60 degrees, it seems that Americans collectively decide to hang up their winter coats and break out their spring wardrobes. SZA‘s on board with that idea: Yesterday in Los Angeles, the singer put out an early endorsement of the long jorts trend that ruled last summer.
While arriving for a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her forthcoming Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar, SZA opted for a sporty layered look that can easily take her from winter to spring. She wore a custom shirt from Los Angeles-based brand Planeta, an oversized orange Lions jersey with quadruple-cuffed multi-plaid sleeves. Styled by Alejandra LaPilusa, SZA added a pair of below-the-knee light-wash jean shorts with a raw hem and white drawstring waist from Maison Margiela.
SZA added some more feminine touches to the rest of her look. She tapped the celebrity-approved freaky footwear connoisseur Fidan Novruzova for a pair of sandal boots, a hybrid of heeled thongs with slouchy boots that tucked into her long shorts. (Not one to betray her sporty jersey, she carried a pair of classic Vans skater shoes in her hand.) She finished off her outfit with a tartan hat and a heap of vintage Chanel necklaces from Paumé Los Angeles.
Between SZA’s sporty spice flair and Kendrick Lamar’s literal flares, this duo has some good jeans.
