Well, after a lovely weekend in Austin, spent entirely outdoors, dining on patios, sipping rose in the backyard, and just generally living my best summertime life (in January lol), I came back home and WINTER HIT. We might even get snow later this week!
Winter dressing is often a challenge for me, but this time, I’m cracking my knuckles, leveling my gaze, and sending out an energetic bring it on.
So this is my first cold-weather outfit of the year! And yes, it’s very similar to this one from the other day (with added wool socks and base layers for extra warmth). But here’s the deal: I’m making it a goal this year to see how many subtle variations I can make on one outfit.
I often feel like I need to reinvent the wheel with my outfits, but WOW that’s so much energy going to the act of getting dressed. Sometimes I thoroughly enjoy spending my energy coming up with entirely new outfits, but right now, I want to send my energy to other areas of life, while simplifying my clothing routine.
So I’m calling it — 2025 is the year of happily riffing off outfits I’ve worn before. It’s the year of repeat wearing my favorite items. (Spoiler: you’re going to see this brown coat a lot.)
If that kind of wardrobe approach is sounding good to you too, you can always book a no-buy styling session with me. We’ll create new outfits using clothes you already have, and you won’t have to shop for a thing. 🙂
