It seems like Sabrina Carpenter was just as transfixed by the documentary about the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders as the rest of us. Yesterday, Carpenter was photographed heading to lunch at Buvette in the West Village wearing a navy Dallas Cowboys crewneck sweatshirt. (I don’t know much about sports, but I’d have to guess that, as a Quakertown, Pennsylvania native, the singer would likely pledge her allegiance to the Philadelphia Eagles or Pittsburgh Steelers—if anything.)
The pint-sized pop star enjoyed a well-deserved day off in New York, where she dressed the polar opposite of her pinup stage persona. In addition to her comfortable pullover, Carpenter endorsed long jorts, opting for a pair of baggy, medium-wash blue denim shorts that landed just below her knee. She showed off a sliver of leg between the hem of her jorts and her calf-high black leather boots.
In one hand Carpenter carried a gray-and-white striped Chanel shoulder bag emblazoned with the telltale interlocking C logo and held together by a brown wood frame. In the other hand, she held a Guayakí Yerba Mate (specifically the Enlighten Mint flavor—which real fans know is the second-best flavor after sparkling cranberry-pomegranate.) She accessorized with a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses and over-ear headphones worn around her neck, and held her signature blonde hair up with a claw clip.
The lowkey affair was a marked change from her sexy onstage pinup girl persona, where she regularly dons sparkly minidresses, bustiers, and micro-shorts. Who could blame Sabrina Carpenter for submitting to the siren song of oversized jorts and a comfy sweatshirt on her day off?
