We’re no strangers to luxury fragrance houses here at Who What Wear. In fact, we make it our business to try pretty much all of them to make sure our beauty reporting is trés accurate. The latest one I’m totally obsessed with? An indie house called Fulton & Roark. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good French fragrance brand as much as the next person, but Fulton is unique in the way that it leans into its 100% American roots.
Every single scent is further proof that European perfume isn’t always inherently superior. Each takes you on an adventure through the U.S. From a whisper of the California coastline to the vibrant shores of Miami. Honestly, you may have even heard of the brand’s Little Havana–inspired fragrance Calle Ocho because it’s been a viral hit on TikTok as of late. To say it’s a favorite of mine is an understatement, and don’t worry, I’ll explain why in a second.
If you’re curious about Fulton & Roark and the brand’s key offerings worth adding to your perfume wardrobe, keep scrolling. I’m sharing all my favorites ahead.
Fulton & Roark
Calle Ocho Extrait De Parfum
Key notes: Cinnamon, rum, bitter chocolate, night-blooming jasmine, labdanum, tobacco leaf, tonka Bean, sandalwood, musk
This viral TikTok hit is so good and perfect for the upcoming summer season. It’s warm, spicy, inviting, and just downright velvety sweet. It has everything that I want and love in a fragrance. It’s inspired by the rich culture of Little Havana, and I think it’s perfect to wear for both a night out and for daily wear. It’s the fragrance I’ve been reaching for the most lately. I find the notes of cinnamon, rum, and chocolate so irresistible and creamy. It also lasts well on the skin, as I got about eight hours of wear time out of it before having to spritz again. While the $205 price tag isn’t exactly budget-friendly, I can say that this brand seems to use high-quality ingredients, and it’s worth the investment.

Perpetua Extrait De Parfum
Key notes: Neroli, lemon, amber, jasmine, coumarin, cedarwood
This fragrance is so good that, much like Calle Ocho, it’s often sold out. It’s my second favorite from the brand, right behind Calle Ocho. I love the freshness of it; neroli and lemon are some of my favorite fragrance notes. It has a sweetness to it but also a zestier aroma that makes me feel like sipping an Aperol Spritz somewhere coastal and warm. Even though Cape Perpetua is on the coast of Oregon with evergreen forests, the Aperol vibe still applies!

Thousand Palms Extrait De Parfum
Key notes: Bell pepper, petitgrain, pink pepper, tuberose, coriander leaf, mango, patchouli, amber woods
Right in the middle of the Coachella Valley is Thousand Palms, a lush explosion of greenery and an oasis preserve. The brand’s fragrance depiction of this little slice of paradise comes with sparkling notes of petitgrain and pink pepper but gives way to softer notes like tuberose and a juicy hint of mango. It’s the perfect scent for spring moving into summer or to wear to Coachella since it’s so fitting.

Cloudland Extrait De Parfum
Key notes: Citrus zest, transparent jasmine, jasmine sambac, ylang ylang, cashmeran, ambrox, skin Musk, moss crystal
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I truly loved this unisex scent. It was inspired by a rainy day spent at Cloudland Canyon in Georgia. It transports you to a quiet mountainous outlook with notes of jasmine, ylang-ylang, and moss crystal. It has such a fresh, light, and airy scent that never teeters on laundry detergent, which I find is common with some lighter fragrances. It’s slightly reminiscent of Byredo’s Blanche in the way that it’s super musky, but this scent is a little crisper to me.

Kiawah Extrait De Parfum
Key notes: Lemon rind, marine notes, cedar, balsam, amber, clove
The beauty of Kiawah Island off the coast of South Carolina was the muse for this zesty fragrance. Think fresh air, sea breezes, and miles of greenery. It’s the perfect embodiment of the “coastal grandmother” aesthetic. It’s not a boozy, sweet scent like Calle Ocho, but this one is perfect for anyone who loves a sparkling, marine fragrance that smells more open and airy. It clings to your skin in a way that’s subtle and inoffensive, but it does still have a presence.

Hwy 190 Extrait De Parfum
Key notes: Fresh orange, pink pepper, white freesia, myrrh, cistus labdanum, cypriol heart, vanilla bean, vetiver java, cedarwood
I won’t lie to you—when I first spritzed this one, I was super unsure if I would like it. But if I’ve learned anything when it comes to fragrance buying, it’s to never trust a first spritz—always wait for the dry down. It was hard to pinpoint exactly what I smelled at first, but the standout notes after drying down were myrrh, vanilla bean, and cedarwood. Sometimes, I surprise myself with how many woody scents I go for. This one is super unique. I do wish I got a bit more of the white freesia and vanilla bean notes, but it’s wearable and perfect for anyone who likes something woodier with just a hint of sweetness.

Ramble Extrait De Parfum
Key notes: Pomelo, black pepper, bamboo Leaf, balsam fir, lavender, elemi, oakmoss, patchouli
Ramble perfectly captures the feeling of being immersed in nature. It takes its name from the stretch of Central Park and leans heavily into its notes of bamboo leaf, pomelo, and oakmoss. It’s earthy and almost has a bit of a pine scent to it. I love the scent, but it feels more like one I’d love to diffuse around the house rather than wear out and about if I’m being honest.

Blue Ridge Extrait De Parfum
Key notes: Citron, white musk, sage, jasmine, sandalwood, amber
I was immediately drawn to this fragrance solely because “Blue Ridge Mountains” by Fleet Foxes is one of my favorite songs ever. This majestic mountain range runs from Georgia all the way to Pennsylvania, and the brand has managed to bottle it with this warm, woody fragrance. Notes of citron, white musk, sage, and jasmine bring to mind lush, dense trees and blue fog for miles. I would wear this and diffuse it around my house.
