Pinstripe Skirts Are the Elegant Alt to Slip Skirts This Spring

As we (very slowly) inch towards the spring season, I’ve started to gradually swap out my trousers with chic skirt styles that will carry me well into the warmer months. Upon taking a look at my current wardrobe, I noticed that I own a lot of satin and silk slip skirts, but that I’m seriously lacking in other styles. Whilst the elegance and versatility of a satin slip skirt are undeniable and will forever have a place in my capsule wardrobe, I must admit that with the temperature still very far from spring-like, I’m in desperate need of a more weather-appropriate style that I can wear now in place of my jeans and tailored trousers. Enter the pinstripe skirt, 2025’s newest trending style that’s being coveted by both fashion people and celebrities alike.

Although I’ve never owned a pinstripe skirt, I’ve invested in multiple pinstripe trousers over the years which I’ve worn constantly. So after seeing the likes of Hailey Bieber sporting this classic skirt style, I knew it was one that I needed to try out myself. Versatile and timeless (usually available in anti-trend colours like black, cream, navy and grey), the style pairs well with everything from neutrals to bold colours and other prints. Not to mention that unlike silk or satin, it’s a style that you can buy in a range of different materials, from thicker wool iterations to keep you warm until spring to linen styles for when the weather finally warms up. Personally, I’ll be investing in a wool style to wear with my jumpers, cardigans and long-sleeve tees for now, but I also have my eye on several cotton and linen iterations to wear with everything from classic tees to pretty blouses come spring and summer.
