I have not found myself being drawn to this many shoes and accessories in a while as I have with Madewell’s Fall collection! In the past I mostly stuck to their denim and basics, but they got me with their stunning Chocolate Raisin color, classic flats, costume jewelry and belts. As someone who designs and sells my own belts, I’m pretty impressed by the price point for the quality and hardware of theirs.
Now through September 30th, Madewell is offering 25% off for those with a free Insiders account. You’ll see the discount apply once you log in on their site. There are some sale exclusions like suede items and certain denim styles, but most of my top recommendations do qualify (including the everyday suede belt pictured below)! You can also check this Madewell folder for my latest try-on videos.
My top madewell sale picks:
- Beverly Mary Jane flats – I stalked the site for my size and have since been very happy with this purchase! A little feminine with the toe shape, a little edgy with the grommets, and a good amount of cushioning. I’m between 5 and 5.5 in most brands and ended up getting 5.5 in these.
- Essentials Bucket Tote – great quiet luxury style everyday bag that fits a laptop and more. I cut the excess strap length a little shorter after the buckle – took me 30 seconds and doesn’t look obvious.
- The Essentials Belt – simple, understated belt that I have in Black and Chocolate Raisin.
- Triple Metal Belt – a chic statement belt with contemporary designer vibes. Elevates the outfit when I’m just wearing jeans and a tee. Suede is excluded on this one, but I bought the black with silver while on sale to go with my silver toned accessories.
- EP longtime bestseller: Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jeans in cropped or full length (see below)
- 90’s Crop Jean – on extra sale with the Insiders discount! Get petite, or regular and cut the hems. These are a great slim cut option that works well with booties, flats and heels.
I was intrigued by the 1-star review on this Wavy cuff bracelet saying that it’s child-sized. I have the hardest time finding bracelets like this for small wrists, but took a chance and was pleasantly surprised!
Also tried on these newer pieces, which run big:
- Drape twill trench: I also tried on this rench but found it to be very oversized and long, and more ideal on someone taller. It’s a very lightweight, flowy material, but also wrinkle prone. I tried on the darker olive color in store (see try on video) and found it to be better for camoflauging wrinkles, This Oak + Fort trench (JEANTRENCH for 20% off) hits slightly shorter on me and is less wrinkle prone with a thicker crepe-like fabric.
- Baggy straight pants: these have a looser, more relaxed fit. Like most Madewell pants these run big at the waist so I have them belted. Size 00 petite measures 13.75” across waist, 10.5” rise, 27” inseam. After checking these measurements I’m surprised it’s that long since I would usually need a low heel with 27” long pants, so I feel it’s something about the cut and how the pant leg opening pools well around the flats here!
And wanted to recap and compare these older EP favorites:
Madewell wide crop jeans in 24 petite “Altoona” wash, which measures 12.7” across waist, 9.5” rise, 24” inseam. I also have these in the “vintage canvas” ecru color, which has a slightly higher rise in the same size.
In comparison, this is the full length version of the previous jeans. The 24 Petite measures the same everywhere as the crops above, except the inseam is 26.5″ long. Compared to the Levi’s ribcage, these have a lower mid rise (vs ultra high rise) and zipper fly (vs button fly).
