If there’s one thing British Vogue’s Fashion Features Director Julia Hobbs can’t survive the summer without, it’s her pair of vintage Chanel sunglasses…
What’s your essential summer purchase—and why do you love it?
I’m part way through The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing—and plan to finish it poolside in Tuscany, where I’ll be wearing my Frankies Bikinis swim skirt with a matching two-piece and little else.
What’s a beauty product that everybody should get their hands on—and why?
I love to dab Rhode’s pocket blush (in “piggy” shade) onto my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose while my sun cream (Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun) is still sinking in. The effect: a quenched, just-stepped-off-the-dance-floor glow.
What’s a place you love to visit—and how do you spend your time there?
I’m dreaming of watching the sunset from the terrace at Le Sirenuse after a lazy day. I’ll need: a deck of playing cards, a best friend (or two), and a splash of Ruinart over lots of ice.
What’s the one summer shoe you can’t recommend enough?
I currently live in Phoebe Philo’s round wedge 75 heels, but have my eye on the New Balance x Miu Miu 530 SL leather sneakers for sprinting through passport control…
What’s one accessory you can’t do without—and why?
I couldn’t do Brat summer without my Apple wired headphones and an enormous pair of vintage Chanel sunglasses to hide the dark circles during early morning call times.
