I just experienced my first winter trip to Spain, and it completely reshaped how I think about cold-weather dressing. Before I went, I had this vision of European winters being all about gray skies and endless layers, but instead, I found myself in a much more dynamic fashion scene. The way people styled themselves for winter in Spain was less about bundling up and more about layering with intention. Think lightweight knits, structured outerwear, and accessories that felt like they were chosen for style first, warmth second. Oh, and a scarf was somehow always involved. In terms of fashion, the trip was refreshing and gave me a new perspective on what a winter wardrobe can look like—chic but relaxed and definitely not weighed down.
Naturally, I came back to New York inspired and ready to revamp my wardrobe. Shopping my way through Spain left me with a running list of ideas for European-inspired staples I want to bring into my closet this season, from elevated outerwear that transitions perfectly from day to night to boots that can handle city streets while still feeling polished. I’ve been adding items to my cart nonstop. If you’ve ever wondered how to inject some European elegance into your winter style, these pieces will have you feeling like you just stepped off a sidewalk in the charming Barcelona neighborhood of Gràcia. Trust me.
