Monica Barbaro’s 2025 Golden Globes Dress Took 1,100 Hours to Make

“Dior has pulled out all the stops to design and fit this gorgeous gown for me and I feel so honored,” Barbaro says. “The atelier flew in from Paris to tailor the dress to fit my body perfectly. It is elegant and simultaneously both classic and modern.” She opted for an Old Hollywood bent, complementing her dress with Bvlgari jewelry—including a diamond statement necklace with a yellow carré diamond—a glowy Dior Beauty look, and waves.

While Barbaro is a seasoned awards show attendee, she isn’t immune to some night-of jitters. “I may not be a stranger to awards shows but this is all still very new to me, so to combat the nerves I tend to lean towards all things calming and good-humored in the room while getting ready. I try to meditate if I can find the time before everyone gets in. Once everyone’s here it’s all vibey music and jokes and whatever keeps us all in good spirits and good feels,” she says. “While it’s easy to get wrapped up in the spectacle of it all, I do what I can to stay grounded. I try to remember how decidedly unglamorous movie making can be and remember that we’re all just people and artists who tend be drawn to a good mess.”
