Millie Bobby Brown Shares Her Favorite Paella Recipe—and Details About Her Wedding to Jake Bongiovi

Millie Bobby Brown will be the first to admit that she doesn’t like the prep involved with cooking. Garlic makes her hands smell; onions make her weep. And meat? “I hate, hate, hate cooking meat,” she says. “Some might say, ‘Mille, go be a vegetarian!’ And I’m going to say to that, yeah, I was a vegetarian for a really long time.”

But despite it all, she loves making her signature dish: a chorizo and chicken paella. Born in Marbella, the Stranger Things actor grew up eating the traditional Spanish dish, which her father often made for dinner.

In a new Vogue video, Brown walks viewers through the recipe with plenty of colorful commentary—while wearing archival Dolce & Gabbana, no less. “Let’s see what happens today,” she says, facing down a dreaded onion. “But let’s really hope [I don’t cry,] because I have a really strong eye look going on.”

Amid it all, the Stranger Things star also shares a few other things that fans of hers may not know. For one: she owns a number of pet chickens—and was thrilled to find out that Chappell Roan does also. (“Chappell—if you are watching this, know that our chickens could get along,” she says) Also, Brown appeared on Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen when she was nine. And, despite being a massive foodie, she actually forwent a wedding tasting. “I didn’t do anything. Our caterer was Galateo, the most renowned, beautiful catering company in Europe,” she says. “I was like—you got this.” And they did: Brown reports that guests are still talking about this one pasta dish they served at her nuptials to Jake Bongiovi in Tuscany, where she wore a custom gown by Gahlia Lahav.

Also, she’s loving married life. On a normal day, Bongiovi would be cooking right beside her. “We’re like a trendy trad couple,” she jokes.
