There’s no party quite like a party on the Sunset Strip, a stretch of Los Angeles that’s filled with remnants of old Hollywood, much like Sunset Tower, which is where Italian fashion house Tod’s held an intimate dinner Wednesday night.
While business bustled as usual in the hotel restaurant one room over, friends of the brand, such as Kerry Washington, Amber Valetta, Matt Bomer, and Kelly Rowland, slipped into the establishment’s cozy back lounge, which had been aptly outfitted for the evening to celebrate Tod’s fall collection with creative director Matteo Tamburini.
A row of champagne trays and small hors d’oeuvres caught attendees at the room’s entrance just before they’d disperse into the quaint space, and as a live pianist played during cocktail hour, Washington and Justine Lupe gushed over one another, Bomer and Edgar Ramirez shared a conversation, while Valetta hung with a friend by the bar, others such as Rowland and Jurnee Smollett arriving just before the small crowd took their seats.
In one corner, a lit fireplace lent a toasty ambiance, while another wall offered a bar where guests could request martinis and more as they wished; toward the back of the room were secluded pods where a few parked to mingle until dinner began, and in the middle of the room, a crisp tablescape of dahlias, zinnias, and glimmering candles. A dinner of branzino or filet mignon, followed by a fudge-filled chocolate cake, was served.
