This month, Margot Robbie has been on-location in the U.K. filming Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights. (I mean, did you not see those epic wedding dress photos?). But yesterday in London, the actor enjoyed a rare day off by grabbing lunch with her husband, Tom Ackerley. Naturally, Robbie had a cool, casual off-duty look for the outing. After all, the star is never without a fashion-forward outfit, even if she is merely stepping out for coffee. (See: her maternity wardrobe last year.)
Robbie’s version of a day-off uniform? It was a fresh take on double denim, otherwise known as the Canadian tuxedo. The star chose a matching light-wash set, consisting of an oversized button-up shirt paired with baggy jeans. While she could have easily drowned in the look’s sea of denim fabric, her sharper accessories—like black pointed heels, and a sleek leather shoulder bag—gave the pieces a more polished finish.
Robbie isn’t the first star to embrace the classic appeal of a Canadian tuxedo, either. Many Hollywood trendsetters have doubled up on denim, from Rihanna to Bella Hadid, proving that it’s a timeless combo that will always make a statement. Robbie’s new approach—by going oversized, and adding structured accessories—is the styling move to replicate for spring.
