One could argue that nobody has done more for the Chanel skirt-suit than Lily-Rose Depp. Well, besides Coco Chanel, that is. The skirt and jacket set—in the house’s telltale tweed—isn’t exactly synonymous with trendy, youthful fashion. But the 25-year-old actor is putting in work to change its reputation.
Last night at a London screening of her forthcoming film, Nosferatu, Depp embraced her inner lady who lunches—and her Chanel contract—in a set from the French label’s pre-fall 2024 show.
Depp plucked a piece from former creative director Virginie Viard’s last Métiers d’ Art collection in Manchester for her screening. She chose look 30, a matching black-and-white houndstooth jacket and button-through A-line mini skirt, which were both festooned with multicolored rhinestone flowers. A longtime Chanel face (and a second-generation Chanel face at that), Depp carried a memento to Karl Lagerfeld’s tenure : a brown quilted Cambon bag from the early 2000s emblazoned with beige interlocking C’s.
