Leighton Meester isn’t afraid to use “questionable” products in her quest for dewy skin. While sharing her Beauty Secrets with Vogue, the former Gossip Girl star picks up NagraCoola’s Clie 1—a vibrating facial cleanser—and cracks a wry smile. “I’ve been asked a lot of questions by anyone who notices this, and you can use it to wash your face,” she says. “Let’s just keep it at that.” But there’s more to come, as the cleansing tool isn’t the only part of Meester’s beauty routine that, she admits, may be somewhat confounding.
Displaying a bottle of The Klog’s Snail Mucin Energy Essence, the Texas native says: “I saw this in [my sister-in-law’s] van, we were on a surf trip, and I was like, What the hell is that?” But now that she’s acquainted with the hydrating ingredient, Meester is helping her loved ones get glowing via gastropod. Referencing her husband Adam Brody, the 38-year-old says: “Adam gets into the mucin. We share. We’re, like, a mucin family.” And the commitment pays off. “I feel very moisturized right now,” Meester remarks, after she’s carefully patted the product into her skin.
Just for good measure, the mother of two later adds a touch more moisture, via a product that she calls “real left-field.” Capping off a shimmering makeup look, Meester wields a tube of Chanel Baume Essentiel. “You won’t believe that I’m using this,” she quips, swiping the glow stick over her face and collarbones. But once again, there’s a gleam-inducing method to her product selection. “It just looks a little bit dewy and wet,” she says, before blowing a farewell kiss with duly balmy lips.
