We’ll get into fabric and quality, fit and feel, and so much more as we make our way through the shop floor. Happy scrolling (and strolling)!

As I walked up Bleecker street toward Ganni’s West Village location, with a latte in hand, one thing became clear. Autumn had arrived. The leaves were browning as they drifted slowly to the sidewalk, my coffee was hot instead of iced, and I was in need of a seasonal wardrobe refresh. When I entered the store, with the brand’s Copenhagen pastels, I found myself gravitating toward transitional pieces with a twist. I was especially excited to check out the new ballet flats and modern suiting I’d been eyeing online.

While I usually steer clear of prints and opt for a more minimalistic approach, I couldn’t help but try on some animal print separates that are currently trending. Throughout my early morning visit, I found the perfect curved sleeve black top—the type of structured silhouette that makes me swoon—as well as a versatile midi suit skirt, an effortless wool jacket, and really fun sweaters.

Below, a few key pieces I tried on at Ganni, plus some additional must-haves to add to cart.

Soft Edges, Clean Lines

In my opinion, you can never have too many zip-up tops—especially when it has an eye-catching silhouette like this one. This was my favorite piece out of the entire store with its soft crepe fabric, waist-cinching structure and high collar that could be worn up or folded down. I paired it with a pleated midiskirt that resembled suit pants. A shacket and skirt that can really go with anything. The little croc bag adds another demure touch.

A Walk on the Wild Side

It’s no surprise that animal print is trending after being spotted countless times on the fall/winter 2024 runways. Designers, from Alaia and Alexander Mcqueen to Batsheva and Christian Dior, featured leopard, cheetah, and snakeskin prints. I can already see Ganni fans falling in love with this leopard canvas jacket, which is light enough to wear as a button-up with jeans and trousers.

Suiting, But Make it Late Night

Nearly every brand has its own take on (coordinating) suit separates, but this version is done in Ganni’s tried-and-true whimsical style. This pale grey blazer has a glossy finish with a single raw silver button closure. The pants are what takes the cake—another hybrid—with a detachable matching skin layered over top. I paired it with the eyelet bow ballerina flats, a new addition to the brand.

What’s Old Is New Again

I’m big into fall and winter fashion exclusively for the outerwear options. Summer tends to bum me out come August, when layering gets set aside for survival. This herringbone coat reminds me of a beloved vintage piece I owned for years and still miss. This will be its replacement. It features a hood and classic toggle closures that nod to Prada and The Row. I’d wear this with the label’s grey suit pants or the same pinstripe skirt from above, and with a knee-high boot when the weather gets colder.

Sweater Weather

Although I’m usually a collector of pared-back knitwear (think of cream crewnecks and simple turtlenecks), I couldn’t help but covet Ganni’s arsenal of spirited sweaters. Other knits were just as fun, with subtle off-the-shoulder sparkles, chunky knits, and polo shirts, for the preps! This graphic tiger-adorned sweater hit the sweet spot, giving a bold and easy option at once. I also loved the sustainable message—Have a Nice Day! Please Recycle!—printed at the front.
