*I wanted to share my date night outfits every few weeks or so! B and I try to get out by ourselves a few times a month so I thought it would be nice to share what I wore on those dates. These will be iPhone shots and selfies, little shots on the go. So welcome to It’s a date!
when: Saturday night where: favorite Mexican food restaurant
I obviously love a midi or maxi skirt for a date night. (see here for reference) But honestly? I wish I wouldn’t have worn the sandals. But I did; it happened and we must move on. Did it affect the taste of my wine? It did not. Did it make my night less romantic? Maybe. I don’t have the prettiest feet, it’s no lie. But more than that, the sandals makes this look feel more beach instead of chic. Instead I would pair this with my ballet flats next time. Just a note in case you want to recreate this outfit, wear a different shoe.
Let’s see I wore this skirt I got my grubby little hands on from the Nordstrom Sale. I’ve been dying to wear it and a date seemed like the perfect time to debut. (Here is a similar look one here under $75!) This one runs a bit big, I got the US10, but the US8 would fit me a bit better.
I paired this camisole from last year J.Crew (this gold color is sold out but the white and black are in stock!) with it because the colors couldn’t match any better. At first I was going to go black tee with the skirt but it felt too casual. Not that any of our dates are fancy, but I wanted to look a bit nicer than something I’d wear during the day. I would also love to toss on a graphic tee with this skirt, but I’ll get to that soon enough I’m sure. Overall this was a great skirt and look for the date, I felt comfortable, not too casual and not too dressed up. We don’t have a date lined up this week, but I’ll be back with this series soon!
