Desi Fare (one of my favorite style icons) posted this look last week:
And I practically launched off my couch and into my closet to recreate it.
The baggy jeans! The vintage plaid shirt! The leather jacket!
Even better — it was one of those magical moments when inspiration aligned with what I already had in my closet.
The weather was warm that day, so I made a few tweaks — flip flops instead of boots, ditching the leather jacket all together — and suddenly I found myself in an outfit I loved.
Knotting a shirt around your waist has always been a great styling move for warm weather — a way to layer without layering, if you will. But I don’t think I’d ever tried the move with baggy jeans. So much volume, so much drape! A whole vibe.
Thanks for the inspo, Desi!
P.S. My first YouTube video in something like seven years is coming out a little later this week. It’s all about how I packed for my 18 day trip to Scotland in a carry-on — quite a feat for this clothes-loving-gal, if I do say so myself. Feel free to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss it!
