It’s a well-established fact now — summer is my fav!
When it’s the middle of summer, and I can’t remember life before the heat, it’s easy to think summer’s going to last forever. And for me, that’s not a bad thing.
But now that it’s August, I’m reminded that summer will come to a close. Or, as Taylor says, it’ll slip away like a bottle of wine. 🙂
These long, sunny days won’t last forever. So I’m LEANIN’ IN to what I love about summer dressing while it lasts — ease, repetitiveness, and fits that aren’t that groundbreaking.
I’m letting go of that invisible pressure to wear something inventive each day, and reveling in my favorite season while it lasts. And that feels so good.
Fall will be here before too long, and we can do all the elevating and interest-building we want, but for now, I just want to be right here, in my simple summer clothes.
Anyway, a couple of styling notes before I go:
• Today’s look is a take on one of my favorite uniforms — running shorts and a big button up shirt. The structured denim shirt is a nice switch from a basic poplin button up.
• Instead of my typical tote, I went for the Merit clutch for a little more impact. Love the contrast between this ultra casual fit and that cute little clutch.
