It was a buzzily international Shanghai Fashion Week: Vivienne Westwood took its spring collection to China. Daniel Roseberry hosted a Schiaparelli dinner, as did Kiko Kostadinov for his ASICS collaboration, and Rick Owens threw a couple of parties ahead of his starring role at the astounding Moncler Genius event.
Beyond the out-of-towners, though, there were plenty of homegrown standout moments. Vogue China crowned Louis Shengtao Chen winner of the second edition of the Vogue China Fashion Fund. Jacques Wei and Samuel Guì Yang each hosted stunning off-calendar shows. Yayi Chen Zhou debuted on the runway to much excitement. And Ximon Lee returned to the runway with a steamy show and after-party twofer that got everyone talking—and dancing—into the wee hours. Scroll through for a recap of everything you may have missed, from A$AP Rocky’s performance at Moncler to the up-and-coming locals to keep your eye on.

A Moncler Genius Extravaganza with A$AP Rocky, Rick Owens, and Many, Many More
Moncler’s event was the hot topic at Shanghai Fashion Week: How big it would be (around 8,000 people), where it would be held (at a historic shipyard astride the Huangpu River), the size of the space (over 300,000 square feet), and, of course, how much it cost (rumors among attendees placed the production price tag at around €30 million). But the most recurring query: What exactly is it? Click here to read the full review.
And a Night to Remember with Rick Owens and Michèle Lamy
“I love China,” declared a wide-eyed Rick Owens as he walked out of his interstellar installation at the Moncler Genius spectacular on Saturday night in Shanghai, with Michèle Lamy. The night prior, the pair had hosted a rave. It was their third party last week to celebrate the designer’s first time in the country. Owens is big in China. Huge. Read more here.
