My signature look: All-black layered textures with pointy black suede Manolos or leather boots, a designer handbag, and classic white gold jewelry. And I always wear sunglasses—even on the cloudiest winter day. (If I’m met with curiosity, I’ll chalk it up to anti-aging concerns!)
My favorite designers: It depends what I’m looking for. For fashion in general: Saint Laurent, LK Bennett, Cos (my favorite in terms of quality for price), Max Mara, Chloé, Alaïa. In recent years I have discovered Dolce and Gabbana’s amazing tailoring services for dresses and trousers. For coats, Max Mara (I always opt for camel hair). For hosiery, Bleuforêt. For skiwear: Fusalp, Cordova, and Moncler. Hermès’ classics are wonderful for bags, as is anything vintage from Chanel or Bottega Veneta. My everyday bag is a Saint Laurent shopper—its leather is so durable. And for shoes, I adore the work of Aquazzura and their collaboration with my favorite visual artist. The secret to walking all day long in heels, of course, is finding a pair that molds to your foot, and I find that mine are particularly supported in anything from Alex Rivière, Jimmy Choo, Sergio Rossi, Valentino, Saint Laurent, and Louboutin.
On my fashion wish list: The Bottega Veneta Andiamo Bag, Soft Goat loungewear, and some home heels for when I host dinner parties. One last thing: I have to re-buy my Spanx Thinstincts tops—they’re better than thermal clothing and give a great shape.
A fun fact about me: I’m proficient at farming and plowing (I attribute this to my language stays in the Romandy)—and onions are my favorite vegetable. I also chose skiing over snowboarding as my go-to slope sport because the skis matched my suit better.
