Let’s be honest, pantsuits don’t exactly have the best reputation. But Gabbriette just revived the dowdy look.
The model, who touched down in Milan to walk in Fendi’s 100th-anniversary show, looked just as fabulous off the runway in a piece of fashion history. Gabbriette hit the town in a two-piece set from Tom Ford’s final collection for Gucci, fall 2004.
Gabbriette wore an aubergine silk taffeta jacket from the show’s opening look, complete with a high collar, pleats at the neckline, and ruching at the waist that jutted out into a peplum. She wore the statement-making jacket with a pair of matching low-slung trousers, which were embellished with the same rich purple velvet finishes.
Known for her gothic style, it’s no wonder Gabbriette added some darkness to her look. She wore a pair of pointy-toe lace-up heels (likely the same Jimmy Choo booties Lady Gaga sported in New York a couple of weeks ago) and carried a large black Birkin with black hardware.
Of course, not every pantsuit has to be a piece from Tom Ford’s Gucci to be cool. In her cropped jacket and slim-fitting, low-waisted trousers, Gabbriette reminds us that a dynamic silhouette goes a long way.
