I had the hardest time finding a good mini skirt this year. There’s an abundance of inexpensive minis out there, but they all kind of suck. They may look cute when you’re standing still, but any movement whatsoever risks exposure. NO THANKS. I don’t have time for that kind of skirt.
Happily, this mini skirt from Ref puts all the other minis to shame. I mean, first of all it’s visually gorgeous. But it also works, you know? It’s lined, it’s cut for an actual human body, and it stays where it’s supposed to stay. Even though it’s short, there’s something about the way it’s made that makes me feel secure and covered.
Since today was drizzly, I had the perfect excuse to try this skirt with my moto boots. Ah, these boots. They occasionally make this amazing little jangley sound when I step a certain way. It makes me feel very “These Boots Are Made For Walking” and I live for that feeling.
As a finishing touch, I wanted to add a non-serious note to this fit, so here comes the scrunchie! Is there anything more whimsical? Fun and also non-committal — I can always just slip it off and stick it in my bag if I want.
