I can’t tell you if these jeans are going to be on sale today because I wrote this post last night. That’s right you are in the future and I hope it’s going well. Are these jeans on sale like they were this weekend? You will have to tell me.
Even if they aren’t, they are a great steal. No shade to Old Navy but they don’t feel…cheap. Like they feel like a nice pair of jeans that will last. The fabric isn’t too stiff but isn’t to soft and the fit is spot on. No weird pulling or bulking in any one area. Now would I say they feel as nice as a Madewell or a J.Crew? No, but very very close. I even think they’ll be even softer after a good washing and a steaming, too. I’ve actually found one too many pairs of good denim this fall, especially of the wide leg variety. Which just tells me retailers are finally getting the trend right. I tend to not jump on a trend right when it comes out because I don’t find that retailers — well the once I can afford — quite have the fit as it usually takes a season or two to get things just right. I’m loving the wide leg, or even just a looser leg denim because the fits are so nice and comfortable. I’m also glad that collectively as a society we’ve decided to stick with high rise jeans for now. I can do a lot of things, but low rise is a had pass for this bod.
I am in the 10 of the jeans, love the looser fit. If you are in between sizes, you could easily size down one but I like this size for me! Find them here.
Since we are here because it is denim on denim, let’s talk about this shirt. It’s not exactly chambray, because it’s a thicker denim. Almost shirt-jacket like to be honest, although not thick enough to be an actual jacket. It has enough structure though for the collar to stay popped and I respect the hell out of that. I am in the medium and it fits very oversized, so keep that in mind. Find this top also from Old Navy here!
Side note — since everything else is coming back around, I’m thinking about bringing back the clutch. Clutches had such a moment in the 2010s and I just feel like it’s time. This one is a past style from a random brand at Shopbop no longer in stock, but I found a super similar one from Hobo that can be used as a crossbody too! See this one here.
