Blake Lively isn’t one for following fashion rules, and so the codes for Winter color palettes go right out the window with her latest, butter yellow outfit.
The It Ends With Us actor was attending the Beauty Inc Awards 2024 in New York, where she was picking up the Newcomer of the Year Award for her debut hair care line, Blake Brown. Bringing a shot of sunshine to the event, Lively wore a full monochromatic look: a sequin-covered Sergio Hudson yellow shirt, with a similarly hued set of suit pants, and a pale yellow, quilted Chanel bag.

She only diverged from the color code with her shoes, wearing Christian Louboutin multicolor Hawaiian print crackled leather spike pumps.
But the resounding color remained buttery. As always, Lively wore her fair hair long with soft, brushed out waves, and a sweeping side part that gave her roots some height. It makes sense then, as a newly minted beauty mogul, to let the monochromatic aesthetic start from her feet and graduate to her honey-blonde hair, letting her signature feature shine.
Method dressing has dominated 2024’s red carpets, with celebrities finding the chic in all shades of the movies they’ve been promoting. Lively has even been method dressing for movies she’s not even a part of, channeling Dorothy Gale with the Wicked cast. But we may have a new contender for the season ahead: namely, head-to-toe monochrome. Quite literally. Just as we saw Lively coordinate her look with her blonde hair, Julianne Moore also appeared in various notes on red this week.
