Even with only five days to pull it all together, Bettina and Anne worked to create something authentic and beautiful. “She made a few quick calls, and the vision came to life,” Bettina says. “Anne’s truly incredible, nothing’s too big for her.” One thing Bettina knew was that she wanted to repurpose some of the custom furniture she had created and used for her original wedding. “I had loads of gorgeous stone slabs and extra material and had the idea of incorporating them into the tables,” she says. “Anne was immediately on board, partnering with Rock and Stone and Furniture by Okasie, who had done all of our custom marble work. It was so amazing to see our home and wedding worlds collide in the most magical way.”
There were 15 guests total, outside of the couple’s family. “For the service, we kept it intimate, with just our boys by our side,” Bettina says. “As the sun set, we invited our friends in Cape Town to join us for cocktails and dinner, keeping things relaxed and effortless.”
Florals were created by Lush Flowers, the same florists the couple used on their wedding day. “Honestly, I wish I lived closer to them,” Bettina says. “They are, without question, the most talented florists I’ve ever met. We used beautiful urns and vases from their daughter Jade Paton, who is an incredibly talented ceramicist.” And the couple also used Annalize Catering—again, the same caterer they had used on their wedding day. “They have become not just a go-to for us but dear friends,” Bettina says. “Their team, led by Chef Ollie, instantly understood the aesthetic and made everything seamless and delicious.”
After dinner, one of the couple’s friends and favorite DJs, Floyd Lavigne—who also DJ’ed at the wedding, naturally—made sure to get the party started. “We danced well into the night,” Bettina says. “Around midnight, Chef Ollie fired up the grill again for a late-night braai while we sipped champagne. Our guests started heading out around 1:30, and we wrapped up the night with music still playing, the fire still going, celebrating the last five years together.”
