The Canadian Tuxedo has proven itself a enduring celebrity wardrobe staple—from Rihanna to Margot Robbie, and Julianne Moore amping up their denim. Blake Lively comes next, with her own bedazzled take on the trend.
Out in London to promote her movie Another Simple Favor, Lively donned double denim with a layer of sequins. She wore an oversized, light wash blue denim shirt, wearing it off her shoulders like a shawl, and matching sequin, high-rise jeans. Lively paired the look with a gray tank top and barely there stilettos, a silver cocktail ring, and silver drop earrings. As always, she wore her blonde hair in long, tousled curls. Lively stopped to pose with fans outside the Hamyard Hotel, all smiles.

Denim is a core tenet of Lively’s style—sometimes, it’s the on-trend, voluminous barrel jean, and usually in distressed and washed out colorways. It’s not the first time we’ve seen her in double (or triple) denim either—early last year, she tried out a more Serena van der Woodsen iteration in a Self Portrait denim mini-dress, denim maxi coat, and of course, a denim-toned Chanel bag. Sometimes denim is trussed up—like the aforementioned sparkle-studded look—or dressed down with casual plaids and husband Ryan Reynolds at her side for a morning coffee run.

Earlier yesterday (April 15), Blake kicked off her press tour wardrobe decked out in Chanel, opting for the house’s classic textured cardigan style, with a black buttoned leather mini skirt, over-the-knee black boots, and a camera-style Chanel cross-body bag. Though it was a London press call, it very much was Lively’s take on French girl style. Later at the premiere, she opted for an edgier black leather blazer maxi dress with long layers of black fringe. Across a mere 24 hours in the British capital, Lively—who famously styles herself—gave us a refreshed run-through of her maximalist, varied sense of style.
Just in case you need reminding, here’s exactly what you can expect from a Blake Lively press tour wardrobe as the Another Simple Favor promo continues: Chanel frocks, slinky Versace gowns, and bombshell Tamara Ralph couture, tons of tulle, of-the-moment butter yellows, boho stylings, and sharp jewel-toned suiting. Now, where’s the glue gun…
