Since marrying Pierre Casiraghi, grandson of Grace Kelly, in 2015, Beatrice Borromeo has rarely put a foot wrong when it comes to her royal wardrobe. So it’s no surprise that the Monégasque royal pulled out all the stops for Monaco’s Rose Ball, an annual event in Monte Carlo to support the Princess Grace Foundation.
In keeping with this year’s sunset theme, Borromeo opted for a red cape dress from Dior’s spring 2020 couture collection, which she paired with Tiffany & Co. diamonds and a braided hairstyle. The gown appeared to subtly pay homage to the red caped dress that Princess Grace wore at the Red Cross Ball in 1976—a fitting tribute, given that the actress-turned-royal first founded the Rose Ball, also known as the Bal de la Rose, back in 1954, in order to raise money for her charitable foundation that supports emerging talent in theater, dance and film.
Borromeo has long been a fan of Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri—she wore a dusty-pink dress by the designer, during her and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s joint tenure at Valentino, for her civil wedding ceremony in 2015. Since Chiuri took the helm at Dior, the royal has regularly been seen on the front row at the French fashion house, which has become her go-to couturier for official events—see the scarlet Bar jacket that she wore to mark Monaco’s National Day in 2022.
Of course, Borromeo was not the only member of the Monégasque royal family in attendance at this year’s Rose Ball. She was joined by her sister-in-law, Charlotte Casiraghi, who wore an embellished black dress from Chanel’s fall 2024 couture collection for the occasion.
