When Chemena Kamali showcased her sophomore runway collection for Chloé in September, it was an offering defined by creamy whites, feather-light dresses, ruffled chiffon, and floral bouquet prints. It enchanted the likes of Sydney Sweeney and Sienna Miller, as well as Anya Taylor-Joy.
Taylor-Joy has continually shown her sartorial allegiance to Chloé. It’s a go-to for evening wear, like a pre-Oscar party look where she chose a dramatic, asymmetric cream dress from the house’s pre-fall 2024 collection and the much coveted Eve over-the-knee leather brown boots. But also, in more casual (the word ‘casual’ is working quite hard, here) outfits, say, when walking the streets of New York in the height of summer, wearing leather micro shorts and those same chocolate-colored boots by Chloé.
So when the actor is readying herself to unveil a first look at her forthcoming movie, it makes sense that it’s Chloé she reaches for. Over the weekend, Taylor-Joy appeared at Brazil Comic-Con to present the first trailer for The Gorge, alongside co-star Miles Teller. She took to the stage—well, glided, sashayed, as one should in such an outfit—wearing gauzy pantaloons and a matching sheer bralette from Chloé’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The delicate, detailed little top that stops at the ribcage gives enough grace and space for the billowing bottom half, with sheer panels and dramatic, diaphanous cuffs. It’s a tried and tested formula of proportions. And Victorian undergarments.
A second look from earlier in that day at the event’s photocall saw Taylor-Joy tweak this alchemical way of dressing. She wore a sculpted and cropped Cong Tri spring 2025 shirt, with a starched pointy collar, the heaviness and drama of the ensemble’s top balanced by a black mini-skirt.
The Gorge is directed by Scott Derrickson that stars Taylor-Joy and Teller, as well as Sigourney Weaver. Taylor-Joy plays one of two elite snipers sent on a mission to guard each side of a deep gorge, without knowing what lies below. The film is set for release on Apple TV+ on February 14 2025—plenty more time for a press tour wardrobe that experiments with silhouette and shape.
