Amanda Seyfried Has Discovered Beauty’s “Secret Weapon”

Amanda Seyfried has picked up quite a few makeup tips throughout her decades-long career. But it wasn’t until a few years ago that The Housemaid actress discovered the staple her routine had been missing all along.

While sharing her beauty secrets with Vogue, the Lancôme global ambassador, now 39, says: “The thing that I never understood was blush. And it took me until my mid-thirties to discover that blush—it’s the secret weapon! It’s incredible! Like, I don’t have rosy cheeks, unless I’m freezing.” Or, unless she’s using a cheek-reviving product that a beloved collaborator turned her onto.

“Monika Blunder is a beautiful makeup artist that I’ve been working with since Mamma Mia!” Seyfried says. Holding up a tube of Blunder’s Liquid Flush Cheek Tint, the actress gushes: “I’m obsessed with this. It looks like moisturizer, but it’s the most beautiful color.” After dabbing the silky tint onto her hand—Seyfried’s favorite hue is the peachy-pink Salzburg—she uses her finger to dot the lightweight product onto her cheeks.

Blush intact, Seyfried has the rosy flush she advertised, but she adds one more touch of color before calling her beauty regime a wrap. As she mists her face with Roxanne Rizzo Bronze Glow Bronzing Mist, the mother of two says: “This is just giving health. It’s a color. And it looks like you’ve just been to the beach.”

With that, Seyfried’s ready to show her clean, unfussy beauty look to the world—and perhaps make a splash in the produce aisle. “Do I look like I’m going to the prom? No. But I could totally go glam grocery shopping,” she concludes.
