Haven’t you heard that boho is back? Amal Clooney certainly knows it. The human rights lawyer embraced her inner free spirit last week on holiday in Saint-Tropez. But don’t expect Clooney to be the latest celebrity decked out in a full runway look from Chemena Kamali’s Chloé. No, instead of flowing ruffles in neutral silk mousseline, she leaned into bright colors and prints.
While out for a stroll with her husband, George, the barrister opted for a dress from Stella McCartney’s 2015 resort collection: a multi-patterned affair complete with an asymmetrical patchwork skirt and a cutout top. She accessorized with more current McCartney, supplementing her ’70s vibe with a pair of oversized brown square cat-eye sunglasses. But even though she isn’t wearing head-to-toe Chloé, Clooney still gave Kamali’s boho-chic vision her seal of approval. She carried the brand’s trademark bracelet bag in black leather, and finished off the look with a pair of tan criss-cross heeled sandals.
“Isn’t it nice to get some color back into your life, and print, to just feel alive?” McCartney told Vogue’s Nicole Phelps of her free-spirited resort collection. “I think fashion can be quite restraining for people.” If we’re certain about one thing, it’s that Amal Clooney is not restrained by fashion.
