Taylor Russell has quickly emerged as fashion’s new darling, thanks to her penchant for Loewe on the red carpet and The Row when off-duty. But the actor also clearly has an eye for vintage, as evidenced by her recent looks at the Venice Film Festival.
As one of this year’s jury members, Russell arrived on the Lido on day one of the prestigious festival wearing a houndstooth blazer and matching pencil skirt from John Galliano’s spring 1995 ready-to-wear collection, originally worn on the runway by Yasmeen Ghauri. That was quickly followed up by another piece of fashion history: a Chanel spring 1993 couture gown featuring a see-through PVC bodice and dramatic balloon skirt, first seen down the catwalk on Claudia Schiffer.
Of course, Russell has form when it comes to vintage, wearing a Tom Ford-era Gucci look to the Gotham Awards back in 2022, as well as rare Vivienne Westwood during the Bones and All press tour.
With more than a week of the Venice Film Festival to go, could we see the actor wearing more archival looks on the Lido? We certainly hope so. In the meantime, take a closer look at Russell’s best vintage looks to date.
