What better place than a Broadway premiere to embrace your more theatrical side? Last night, Jennifer Lopez joined the likes of Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford, and Hugh Jackman at the premiere of Good Night, And Good Luck, starring George Clooney. Like many of her fellow attendees, Lopez opted to wear black, but she used her look to bring the drama offstage thanks to one of her favorite styling tricks.
J.Lo, styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, wore a strapless black velvet dress from Saiid Kobeisy’s fall 2024 collection, complete with a plunging sweetheart neckline. But she brought contrast to the slinky look with her outerwear: an ivory taffeta cape that billowed out around her like a dollop of whipped cream.
Lopez upped the ante with her jewelry, wearing a modular, geometric Van Cleef & Arpels necklace, whose pendant could be deconstructed into a brooch and earrings. J.Lo chose to wear it as is, adding a pair of dangling diamonds for maximum sparkle.
This is hardly the first time the singer and actor has trotted out voluminous outerwear to add some visual contrast to her look. At the Othello premiere late last month, she layered a furry black jacket over her form-fitting Zuhair Murad two-piece. As evidenced by much of her winter press tour style from last year all the way to last night’s red carpet look, Jennifer Lopez knows how to stir up some intrigue.
