Of the nine brands produced by the Issey Miyake design studio in Japan, Homme Plissé has become a firm favorite since its introduction to the Paris Fashion Week calendar in 2019.

Now the Japanese company has announced that Plissé is to go on the road for good, showing nomadically and out of season. In a statement the house said: “Starting this year, the brand will travel around the world to present its clothing in places and at events where it has never been before, meeting local communities and connecting with a global creative scene.”

This June the label will show its spring 2026 collection at the Pitti Uomo fair in Florence as a guest designer. That presentation will be the first in a series of site-specific Plissé projections which, the brand said “will not always be defined by seasons: each of them is one of a kind in relation to its context, location, and audience.”

Issey Miyake Homme Plissé was founded in 2013 as the menswear brother brand to Pleats Please, which launched in 1994. This January at menswear Paris Fashion Week the show slot was filled by the 2023 launched IM Men label.
