Crafted by celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt for beauty mogul Hailey Bieber ahead of the 2022 Met Gala, the glazed donut manicure skyrocketed in popularity. For Ganzorigt, picking go-to styles to suit each of her clients is essential. “To me, your nail is like your outfit,” she previously told Vogue. “Nowadays, people express themselves through their nails—it shows who they are.”
Motherhood and manicures have gone hand in hand for Bieber (and Ganzorigt!)—last year, the nail artist told Vogue that her husband, Justin, chose her delivery manicure, which she described at the time as a “more muted, nudish white micro French” on almond-shaped nails.
Bieber’s son, Jack, is now six months old, and she took to Instagram to share a rare photo of herself holding him, shimmering mani on full display on the sunny day. Among all the cuteness—look at that red knit hat!—Bieber has also revived one of her beauty staples. Simple and iridescent, the glazed donut manicure is shimmer and shine personified in a nail design.

“The trick to the glazed donut nail is that instead of the usual base coat for nail powder, I use a top coat underneath that doesn’t turn yellow when you cure it,” Ganzorigt previously explained on how to achieve the look. “It was really a last-minute decision—I had just gotten the chrome, so we didn’t know how it would turn out. But we loved it.” The best thing about this mani? It suits every skin tone and nail shape due to the sheer effect. Bieber is also a fan of trying out different colorways and has so far sported cinnamon brown, chocolate swirl, and a glossy navy blue.
