I am no stranger to denim on denim and I’ll tell you why: it works every single time. I could wear the elements of this outfit spring (not summer here but elsewhere perhaps), fall and winter. It’s a year round classic and I love that. I also love that yes I could add more to this outfit — a neck scarf if I was that girl, a belt if I wanted to tuck the top, more necklaces which are on my list to find this spring. But overall this is the boiler plate for a classic look that always works. That is why I love denim on denim. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
This shirt is Madewell and I LOVE the crop of it all. It’s not *too* cropped it’s just shorter than a typical button down shirt. Which to me makes it way more versatile especially for spring. I am in the medium and it fits looser / relaxed. You can find it under $100 here!
This pair of denim is a FAVORITE right now. Once again who knew flares would be in my 2025 lexicon. I will always find a straight or skinny jean to be my best silhouette but these jeans hug at the right places and the flare flares out just right. I can’t really explain, you just gotta trust me. The denim is soft with stretch but still holds shape. I just love them. I’m in the 29 regular length, so as you can see they’re pretty long! You can find this pair of jeans here.
I made a command decision on this outfit — I wore sandals over booties. W I L D of me, I know. But here we are in March and it was warm this day and I said “let’s do this” to a pair of open toe shoes. And I’ve got to be honest, it made me realize that I’ve missed a heel and an open toe option over winter. I forget how freeing it is to have more shoe options in the spring. I get in a sneaker / boot loop in the winter and this feels nice. This look could easily be worn with booties of course, sneakers yes and a simple ballet flat, too. Now this particular pair of sandals are past season Vince wedges (now on sale but limited sizes!) but I’ve found similar options for this spring!
