This month I had the flu so I was out of commission for two weeks. We are talking sweatpants and big t-shirts only for weeks; no other clothing was touched during this time. Since February is already a shorter month AND I got sick, this Nuuly box was unfortunately not well utilized. I also realized as I was packing it up that I was definitely in the wrong mindset when I placed my order; this rental would have been better suited for this month than it was for February. I mean I had a sleeveless top for goodness sakes! So I’m not sure what I was thinking last month, but I definitely had spring on the mind. With the flu and my mismatched seasonal pieces, I just didn’t do this box justice. Therefore my girl math on this box is going to be… well, sobering. Since I started this review process last month, I want to continue this cost per wear system, even if it hurts. To review how I go about this calculation, each box is $98 for 6 pieces. (For consistency, I’m leaving out taxes here since it will differ for each state.) So if you take the $98 divided by the 6 items, it’s about $16.33 per item, if you wear each item one time. Every item’s cost of $16.33 will be divided by the frequency of wear. (i.e. Cost of item rental ÷ times piece was worn = rental price per wear). This month I added an extra piece on as well, so I’ll be reviewing 7 instead of the normal 6. (Spoiler: should have left it at 6.)
I’ve also broken down each piece with a rating system and a review for each item below.
MY RATING SYSTEM:
⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑ = would consider buying full price / will miss it when it’s gone!
⭑⭑⭑⭑ = really liked it, would prefer to buy on sale
⭑⭑⭑ = on the fence, liked it but can’t see myself wearing that often / buy on sale only
⭑⭑ = liked but didn’t wear it at all or found it hard to style
⭑ = didn’t like it / didn’t fit
So let’s get to the 7 items below — the good, the bad, the borrowed:
MAEVE COLLETTE PANTS IN STRAWBERRY PRINT | ⭑⭑⭑

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this but Nuuly is for people who like Anthropologie. It is under the same parent company as Free People, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, so Anthropologie is your vibe then Nuuly is a great rental option for you. If you like a broader, more like Nordstrom variety of items I’d suggest Rent the Runway to be honest. But I personally like Anthropologie and I also Iike that I can return it if at the end of the day it’s not a forever item.
All that to say, these pants are obviously VERY Anthro. A wide leg cropped pant with an all over strawberry print for an adult woman? Must be Anthropologie. And did I rent them? You bet your printed pant ass I did. Here’s my problem and why a rental service actually helps me: I love a wild, bold piece but I don’t dress like this every day. It’s occasional for me and I can never tell when the mood is going to strike because let’s face it — I’m moody. So renting bolder pieces like this is fun for me because I can send them right back once my fun mood is over. These pants are adorable and they fit perfectly (I’m in the 29, they’re slightly generous in fit.) I love the print and it’s just so springy. But that was the problem this month — so springy and it’s February. I was about a month early for this pair. But overall I loved them and had fun wearing them. I personally would buy on sale, so fun but I know I won’t wear them a ton. I paired them with my new denim top from Madewell and honestly wish I could have kept the pants for one more month for this outfit alone.

AGOLDE REN RAW HEM MID RISE JEANS | ⭑⭑⭑⭑
TIMES WORN OVER THE MONTH: 1
CONDITION: LIKE NEW, NO TAGS
Cost per wear: $16.33
Le sigh on this pair of jeans. Let me make this short story long: When I first got them in they were a touch too tight in the waist so I brushed them off and didn’t wear them at all. (They’re size 29 from Agolde. I’m usually a 29 or a 30 with them.) So as I was shooting them I thought I’d give them a try on again and boom they fit. So I sadly only wore them one time this month (with this here outfit!) but had I felt better and had they fit pre-flu I would have rocked them all month long. I love the fit, they’re a wide leg (but not too wide!) and they’re really comfortable with the high waist / stretchiness. I don’t love a raw hem, but these didn’t bother me. (Probably because I knew I was going to send them back perhaps?)
PISTOLA SWEATER | ⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑
TIMES WORN OVER THE MONTH: 4
CONDITION: LIKE NEW, NO TAGS
Cost Per Wear: $4.08
I absolutely adored this sweater. It was soft and warm and what’s that? Oh right, it was PERFECT for February. A sweater in February? Groundbreaking. I’ve only known Pistola for denim but I’ve been loving their sweaters lately. This one is on sale at Nordstrom, you can find it here. I’m in the medium and it fits loose / oversized. I love the brown hue as well, it just went with everything and looked pulled together. This one really came in handy this month.

Oh I love love this top. Thinking about buying it to be honest. It was so comfortable and I wore it a few times! I paired it with leggings as well as denim and it just went with everything. It quickly become a part of my soccer mom uniform. I am in the medium and it fit perfectly. The fabric is a bouncy knit, but I can see that it may pill over time. Would absolutely recommend, adorable top from Anthropologie!
MAEVE SLEEVELESS VEST | ⭑⭑⭑

CONDITION: GOOD CONDITION
Cost Per Wear: -$16.33
I am feeling sheepish at this point in the post, but we march forward. Here is a piece that is just too springy for February. I don’t know what I was thinking, but it was obviously wishful. Maybe I placed my order on one of those rare spring-like days we were having? Either way, this top was not used because it was simply too cold. Other than that I loved it. The fit was great (I’m in the large and it fits well. Tailored but not too tight.) The fabric was hard to get all of the wrinkles out with steam, but it looks great in the photos. Would recommend, but for warmer days of course.

I AM KICKING MYSLEF ON THIS DRESS. I love it so so much but just never had a chance to wear it. Probably had I felt better during the month I would have worn it on a date night with Bryan and we definitely would have shot it. It’s so gorgeous and fit like a glove. I am in the medium, fit is TTS with a stretchy top! I might even end up re-renting this dress again later in the spring, it’s just too pretty. Would buy this dress if I had an event / trip!

I am kicking myself because I paid extra to rent an extra piece and this was that piece. Let’s just say this top was not it for me. I tried to wear it twice and it just was too big but cropped and too boxy wide. It didn’t look good with any jeans I owned so I just chalked it up to a bad choice on my end. 0/10 recommend although I do like the spongy knit, it’s soft but not enough to replace the bad fit. But this is the risk you take with buying / renting clothes online and I’m glad I can easily return it.

Final Thoughts
Woof, this one was an expensive box! With three items I didn’t wear, I didn’t fare too well on my overall usage of this box. I’m in the hole $48.99 because of three items unworn. I just placed my order for this month’s Nuuly so here’s hoping I did better choosing for this month. I really am trying to pin down what it is that I like to wear with this rental service as well as if this service is worth it for me. One lesson I learned this month?Adding in extra items isn’t super necessary unless I have an event or a vacation in mind. Here’s hoping March is a better month!
