Sandy Liang Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear Collection

This season was Sandy Liang’s first since becoming a mother. “In my last collection I was having a C-section and trying to deal with a new schedule and my whole new life and identity,” she said. “And this season I feel like I’m finally settling back in.” So the designer looked to her past as she often does, and rediscovered her childhood toys, from Furbys to Morning Glory planners.

A vinyl skirt featured a snap closure at the hip to mimic the opening of one of those Morning Glory planners, while Furby-like faux fur skirts came in colorful variations like the toy itself. Liang also brought back her popular fleeces, except giving them a more ’90s and nostalgic touch to mimic the polar fleece she used to borrow from her dad when she was younger. They not only came in playful colors, but she even offered them at various lengths, including a midi version perfect for young women who want to walk out of their apartments in their leggings and fleece without attracting unwanted attention.

As a business owner on the Lower East Side, it’s clear that Liang is very aware of what young women want to wear today, while also influencing what they will want to wear in the coming seasons. She understands that right now amongst the Gen Z crowd it’s the norm to have a big industrial puffer jacket with a girlish outfit underneath, but she wanted to revamp the puffer so it isn’t just your standard North Face. Additionally, she knows that young women want to wear mini dresses to their outings without the risk of flashing anyone on their way there. Soon enough we might just see that Dimes Square is full of those mini dresses with printed floral long johns.
