When Christian Louboutin released the Cassia pump—a stiletto outfitted with a squared toe box and ribbons that lace up like a ballerina’s pointe shoe—the shoes went instantly viral. Luckily for Olivia Rodrigo, she was able to get her hands on a pair.
Last we saw Rodrigo, she was wearing a sleek, strappy vintage Versace gown at the 2025 Grammys, where she was nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media for her hit “Can’t Catch Me Now.” The singer took to Instagram, posing in a custom white minidress from Alessandra Rich, outfitted with puff sleeves, a tiered ruffle hem, and an exaggerated collar festooned with lace and bows. Think coquette meets milkmaid. But with the black pointe shoe stilettos laced up to the calf, Rodrigo spared the look from being saccharine. She leaned into the camp of it all, topping off the look with a Betty Boop-esque curl on her forehead.

Rodrigo makes perfect sense to wear the shoe: she’s jetéd into ballet territory before in her “brutal” music video, which featured her as a punky dancer, dressed in fishnets and blush pink. One thing that Olivia Rodrigo does well is elevating girlish aesthetics, and her black Louboutin pointe shoes are certainly no exception.
