Congrats on starring in YSL Beauty’s Libre Flowers & Flames digital series! The images are stunning. Can you walk me through your favorite aspects of the fragrance and what a “Libre mindset” means to you?
Firstly, the fragrance smells absolutely divine. I’ve been a fan of Libre—the original—since it came out. So once I got my hands on Flowers & Flames, of course, my expectations were high. They were totally surpassed. It’s a mixture of warm, sultry, tropical, coconut, and vanilla—all notes which speak to even the pickiest of fragrance connoisseurs. Both the boldness and the sweetness speak well to my individuality and confidence.
What type of fragrances do you typically gravitate toward? Do you wear different scents based on how you want to feel on a given day?
I love to pair my scents with the seasons, but one of the things I really love about Flowers & Flames is that the overall warm and floral scent is perfect year-round.
What are your favorite fragrance notes for winter? Anything you typically gravitate toward this time of year?
Vanilla is the perfect note and sparks a delicious, gourmand element within this fragrance!
On that note, what are your general winter beauty tips? Any makeup looks you’re especially excited to wear?
I typically gravitate toward warmer tones during this time of year—I love a chocolate lip! We love hydrated skin. Having fun during the holidays gives you room to really have fun with beauty trends.
Let’s chat skincare—can you walk me through your morning and evening routines?
In the winter, I typically only cleanse once a day, which I think is a useful tip for most women in the colder months to prevent stripping your skin from moisture and keeping your skin barrier intact. I do a deep cleanse, typically at night, and—always and forever—a luxurious eye cream and serum. And then, whichever products I’m into at that moment, which in the colder months usually are hydrating-based and really rich in texture. The thicker the better!
Hydrating foods and hydrating with water is super important. I also make sure that I get steam and sauna incorporated as much as possible and really slag on the thickest cream and focus on treatments, which alleviate dryness. That includes body cream, lip treatment, hair masks. The colder months are really just for slathering it all on!
If you had to leave the house in five minutes, what are a few staple beauty products you’d apply or bring with you?
A hydrating facial mist—any rose water facial spray! And Libre Travel Size.
Now for some high/low. What’s the most affordable beauty product that you can’t live without, and what’s the most expensive?
Most affordable: shea butter. Most expensive: a luxurious body scrub and massage.
What’s the best beauty tip you’ve ever learned?
Layering fragrance is something my mom taught me a long time ago that helps fragrances amplify and last all day. So I always get both the eau de parfum and the lotion. I love pairing Libre Flowers & Flames with the Libre Lotion.
Who are your biggest beauty inspirations, and what have you learned from them?
Number one: my mother. She is the biggest glamour girl that I know. She has always taken skincare as a priority, and she has never been afraid of experimenting with makeup and hair and style. My mother is by far the most stunning woman I know. She always taught me the [saying], Pretty is as pretty does, and I always remember that.
I can find inspiration in the woman in the bodega that is vibrant and radiant. I find the biggest beauty inspiration in the women I meet during all my travels throughout the world, the women who I see just outside my front door.
Finally, what is your unfiltered beauty philosophy in seven words or fewer?
Divine beauty is inside out.
