Remember the “country cousin” outfit from yesterday’s travel capsule post? Well, since I don’t have that exact Jenni Kayne sweater and Pendleton barn coat, this is my version of that outfit, made from pieces I already have in my closet.
And now you can see these boots I’ve been raving about in person!
You know how there are fashion shoes and then real shoes? It really doesn’t have anything to do with how they look — it’s whether or not they were designed with a real human foot in mind.
A fashion shoe is a mediocre quality shoe that really just exists so you can “get the look”. Hannah Louise Poston calls them “a shoe shaped thing” which always makes me laugh because it’s so spot on.
Well, for the past few months, I’ve been looking for a truly functional winter boot — something that was water resistant and comfortable for walking long distances.
Annnd ideally, even though I know the words “suede” and “water resistant” don’t often go together, I wanted a suede boot. The heart wants what the heart wants.
And the heart got it! Because these suede boots are it!
Water resistant — check! Lightweight sole that’s comfy for walking long distances — check! Plus they are on super sale right now — under $120!
I love the way they look peeking out from a cuffed straight leg jean.
