Think head-to-toe white, and what likely springs to mind are loose, breezy fabrics like cotton and linen. Yet, while it’s a way of wearing color that you might typically associate with the summer, it can work equally well in the winter, too—just ask Queen Letizia of Spain.
Stepping out in Rome as part of a three-day state visit to Italy, Queen Letizia disembarked the plane in a cozy cream-colored wrap coat, as well as a scarf in a matching hue wrapped around her neck to ward off the December chill. (Not to mention the shimmering metallic accessories which added a welcome note of festive sparkle.)
Later, while attending an event in the city’s Trastevere district, Queen Letizia repeated the same formula: albeit this time in an ivory-white blazer and pants with satin lapels and buttons to add contrasting texture. (That’s the key to nailing a head-to-toe white look, after all.) As the finishing touch, she complemented the look with gold Magrit heels, another shimmering clutch, and a pair of earrings by the Valencian brand Sure Jewels—holiday season dressing, but with a royal twist.
